Privacy Policy for Kalima (كلمة)

Kalima ("the App", "we", "us") is developed by Waadi Labs. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and your choices regarding that information. By using Kalima, you agree to the collection and use of information described here.

1. Information We Collect

Kalima does not require you to create an account and does not collect personal information such as your name, email address, or phone number directly from you (other than an optional in-app display name you choose to enter, which is used only to personalize shared results and is stored locally on your device).

The App uses the following third-party services, provided by Google Firebase, which may collect limited technical data automatically:

• Firebase Anonymous Authentication — assigns your device a random, anonymous identifier so the App can function. This identifier is not linked to your name, email, or any other personally identifying information.
• Firebase Analytics — collects anonymous usage data such as app opens, gameplay events (e.g. game started, game won, game lost, shares), and general device/app information (device model, OS version, app version, country/region derived from IP address). This data is aggregated and used to understand how the App is used and to improve it.
• Firebase Crashlytics — collects crash and error reports, including device information and stack traces, to help us identify and fix bugs. This data does not include your personal information.

2. How We Use Information

• To operate and maintain core App functionality (daily word delivery, streak tracking, notifications)
• To understand aggregate usage patterns and improve the App
• To diagnose and fix crashes and technical issues
• To send you optional daily reminder notifications, if you enable them

We do not sell, rent, or share your information with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. Kalima does not currently display third-party advertisements.

3. Data Storage

Your gameplay statistics, streak, badges, and display name are stored locally on your device. This data is not currently backed up to the cloud and will be lost if you uninstall the App or switch devices. We plan to introduce optional cloud sync (via Google Sign-In) in a future update.

4. Notifications

If you enable daily reminder notifications, the App uses Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver a single daily notification. You can disable this at any time from the App's Settings screen or your device's notification settings.

5. Children's Privacy

Kalima is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The App does not require account creation and does not collect information that would identify a child specifically.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

Since gameplay data is stored locally on your device, uninstalling the App permanently deletes this data. Anonymous analytics and crash data retained by Firebase follow Google's standard retention periods, as described in the Firebase Privacy and Security policy.

7. Third-Party Services

Kalima relies on Google Firebase services. Google's use of information collected via Firebase is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
